Disorganized people are losing money
A few months ago, I released my latest ebook about Asana. I followed the good practices of online selling and created bundles. You could buy the ebook by itself, or along with my other services, or everything + a 30 minutes consulting call with me to discuss your needs with Asana. This last package costs $70, and I sold 4 of them. I was thrilled because I would have the opportunity to talk to real Asana users and hopefully help them!
The bundle also included a real hero cape, which a client could easily exchange with a longer consulting call.
As of today, I never heard back from those clients. None of them claimed their call or cape. I have sent them two emails, on top of the email they received from the selling platform and the information in the ebook files.
I can see 3 possible explanations:
- They don’t care, they don’t need the call, and were happy to pay more.
- They did not receive any of the emails.
- They did receive the emails, but forgot about downloading the ebook or asking for the call.
I don’t believe in the first scenario. The two other scenarios are just very surprising, we are talking about $70 after all! The irony is that a tool like Asana would have helped them keep track of their purchase and remember they needed to ask for their call.
My general feeling is that a global disorganization can cost you money on the long run. Whether it is not tracking a purchase, missing a deadline to cancel a subscription or claim an offer, a little organization goes a long way. In Asana you can easily create a task with a due date, hide it, and let it come back when the time comes. A good old calendar can also do the trick!
PS: on Templana.com I also sometimes see people buying templates twice in a row, because they did not receive the email or did not get the process. And they often don’t ask for a refund of the duplicate purchase! Others buy a few templates, then buy a bundle including their previous purchases without asking for refunds!
