People are actually reading me

If you put all my readers and product users in a stadium, ask the one in front of you to put their hands in the air, and shoot a blurry picture, that would look like this.

When writing or creating projects like I do, you often wonder: why would I keep going? You believe nobody cares. Some posts might get a few thumbs up by a few friends, and that’s it. Projects you create, once out there in the open, don’t get the attraction you thought they would. You might even end up emailing 15k users, hoping for some feedback, and you get two answers like I did 🤷‍.

But those answers are awesome. So you keep pushing. And after a few years, things start to happen. Classmates you did not talk to for years casually mention that they read your articles and enjoy them. People contact you out of the blue, asking for advices, and are even willing to pay for it. This morning the CEO of a famous software company emailed me to get my advice about how to use Asana for example! Young entrepreneurs remind you that they started their business (way more successful than mine 😅) after seeing you talk at their school about entrepreneurship a few years ago.

And you remember why you are doing all this :)

If you enjoy my work or use my products, a little thumbs up or email goes a long way. Don’t hold yourself back and share the love 💌! I myself often tweet authors about their article I liked or email back a newsletter with a “Good read, thanks.” It does not cost much but feels so good to receive!
